The Value of Getting Involved

AMA Cincinnati is one of the nation’s most respected chapters. Our chapter consistently wins top awards, thanks to our dedicated volunteers and partners. Our chapter runs like a business, powered by volunteers who give their time and talents to deliver the high-quality programs and experiences we’re known for.

Who are our volunteers? They’re a passionate bunch of AMA members from a variety of roles, backgrounds and stages of life. They bring with them the skills, perspectives and experiences that ultimately help our chapter thrive.

But it’s not all about us—getting directly involved as a volunteer can open doors for you. The more you participate, the more you gain.

Join a Committee to Turbocharge Your Career & Your Team

In business, it’s who you know that matters most. That’s why volunteering is such a valuable benefit of being an AMA Cincinnati member. In most cases, only members are eligible to volunteer, although there are certain exceptions to this policy—exceptions such as AMA Cincinnati Agency.

Why do we require volunteers to be members?

Because…

Committees are more than committees—they’re next-level networking.

Committees give unique access to the region’s top-tier talent, leaders and decision-makers.

For job hunters and career builders, committees are a forum for volunteers to build credibility while demonstrating their individual talents, skills and expertise. And they’re great for learning new skills while lending a hand.

For hiring managers, committees provide perfect opportunities to see high-potential candidates in action.

The Nitty Gritty on Committees

Most committees meet regularly, often in a social setting.

As a committee volunteer, you can tailor your level of involvement from occasional to ongoing.

Most committee roles require fewer than 3 hours of involvement a week. But that can be less—or more—depending on your availability.

If you’re not sure which role is the best fit for you, don’t worry. We’ll work with you to identify—or even create—just the right role and level of involvement for you.
